this has never happened before, but recently when accelerating the Defender has been missing at the top end as if it was oberboosting and cutting the fuel, on Monday it went fully into limp mode and again today, both times under load in 4th gear. These are the codes from Monday:

Anything to do with air con/abs/egr are permanently showing as they don’t exist.

For now I have wound back (lengthend) the wastegate rod but this wasn’t excessively short in the first place. I am geting an airflow reading of 62 at idle.

I had the Nanocom running today (but not recording) I noticed that even in what I think was limp mode the manifold pressure was still getting up to around 220ish, it was just dog slow.

I know there is loads on here about limp mode but unfortauntly very few people conclude their saga once they get it sorted!

The defender is remapped (dynachip) with large intercooler and new turbo around 500 miles ago/September.

is waste gate opening at load or operating system not working, if its all working and it isnt actually over boosting then lok at map sensor in manifold

I’m not sure, and the boost gauge I’ve got fitted is one of Shenzhen’s finest so waiting for a vdo one to arrive. The map sensor is clean and is only a couple of years old. I always thought limp mode limited to 3000rpm but I am able to go over that just very slowly. Hoses all sealed ok and are samco silicone hoses

Shenzhen boost gauge installed at wastegate reading about 18psi max and Nanocom showing 229 max, this is with the wastegate wound quite a bit back (longer). Can only presume that when Dynachip set it up the engine wasn't hot, or there was some other difference at the time. 229 is fine with me (this was going up a hill in 4th flat out), could probably push it a bit but it goes fine like it is so I'll leave it alone.
