Hi All,

Thought I'd ask this here to :).

I've posted before about my fuelling issues that have arisen recently. I have the injector seals to do and have an FPR on the way (trying this all before I resort to the pump), but I'm also considering the fuel filter housing (after finding the LR repair sheet for a leaking air vent in the housing).

Mine doesn't look to bad, but the edges and the body has chunks missing, as well as a few bits miising near the where the filter seal sits.

Is this a housing that's gone porous?

If so, my main question is, what's the difference between the housings that change at VIN 3A?

There's:

WJN000020 - Upto 3A658552
WJN500150 - 3A658552 Onwards

They look identical, but what's the difference and why does one sit around the £80 mark, where the later sits at the £180 mark?

I dont run a water sensor and my VIN (4A) is after they decided to drop the water sensors anyway.

Can I use the cheaper one?

I don't know the answer to this, but I'm thinking about buying another after discovering that mine was broken when I was about to change the fuel filter the other day. Somebody a long time ago had snapped the lugs off where it bolts to the chassis and had stuck it back on with epoxy quick metal. I've fastened it back on by using big washers on the bolts and putting a couple of self tappers in to stop it sliding downwards, but I could do with a new one. Let us know how you get on . . .

Hi did you get an answer to the question of the older filter housing fitting the 4a
I have a problem with my filter housing and I dont fancy spending the extra money for the later model if the cheaper one will fit
best regards john

Cheaper one is exactly the same. The only difference apparently is the sensor in the filter, which they seemed to think added an extra £100 on. Either way I dont run the sensor anyway so it's just sat there un-plugged. Mine doesn't have the wiring anyway as they dropped them after a while.

The only thing you need to do is when you get the new on through, is check the valves are all in the right place! Mine were, but some people have said it's a bit of a lottery. They aren't done up anyway for this reason, so you'll have to tighten them in any case.

Just for reference as well, I actually ordered WJN000030 (which is the same as 020, but listed for Disco II), as this was the only item number in stock, but again, the head is exactly the same as the other part numbers.
