Td5 front hubs.

Can anyone clarify exactly what to do if a wheel bearing goes on my 03 defender?
Is it the same wheel bearings as in a 300tdi?
I've read online the hubs are non serviceable but I've also read they are?
Basically if a bearing goes do I have to change the hub?
I've tried searching but its conflicting info.

Unless its newish and things have changed then definitely serviceable.

Pair of bearings (decent brand - GKN or Timken or....) and rear oil seal - maybe a drive flange gasket if you are being very keen.

Probably a single nut hub, so need a whacking gert box spanner (only £6 or so from LR parts shop) and about 120lb torque.......

Do look it up properly in Haynes or similar, but easy job once you have the caliper bolts loosened off.

Do remember the spacer between the two bearings - found to be missing on my rear hub during another job, and probably accounted for some serious bearing wear and half shaft spline/flange destruction.....

Same bearings as the TDI slightly different set up, re washers. Do a search loads of info available

it is the same bearing but instead of using 2 nuts which lock together after adjusting bearing preload ,they use a selecatable solid spacer so one nut can be locked up tight against it with out alter bearing setting ,once new bearings fitted and nut tightened check bearing preload feels ok no play and not too tight ,either means fitting a different sized spacer, torque setting of nut isnt vital very tight is ok then stake nut ,nuts can be reused
