got td5 disco 99 es wats the best diagnostic kit to get??

HawkEye is made by Omitech - the manufacturers of 'Testbook', the equipment LR use in their garages. I have one and find in very easy to use and seems comprehensive. Quality aftersales if needed given by Bearmach as well as Omitech. HawkEye has every LR product loaded into it, so you buy an unlock for the series you want to use. EG Disco II module covers all engines, all gearboxes and all specs. An advantage here is that if/when you move onto Disco III you just buy another unlock code and you can use the same equipment - so no redundancy.

Nanocom is a product widely used by TD5 owners and has been available for years. Made in Italy by what appears to be a small company - I have found communication and after sales very difficult. Old model was TD5 only. They are bringing out a new model - was promised for March, still not available. That about sums up Nanocom in my experience.

it comes with whatever range of model you order it with, then pay for an unlock code to open up another model range (£145 I was quoted for unlock code).

I,ve just got the HawkEye, and I thinks its great !.

It does everything that I want it to and more.

Its got straight to the bottom of an injector inbalance. ( causing slight black smoke ), and it can recode injectors and check the ones that are already in.

Its told me about my ABS faults. ( causing 3 amigos ).

Also that my SLS sensors are out of range.

As Dave has always said, if your going to maintain your Disco yourself, then a bit of kit like this should be part of the tool kit.

Does it let you recalibrate the dash mileage? I have a nanocom, and it supposedly lets you do it, but it just doesn't work. I have a replacement dash, which is showing a falsely low mileage (the BCU knows the right mileage) and I want to sync the two.

Also, can you calibrate ride height sensors with the Hawkeye? From what I remember, you didn't used to be able to, but it is something they might have added?

Cheers,

David

Ride heighjt re-calibration needs more than just a capable reader/programming tool.

The fella at Bearmach, ( Darren ), said there is a " toolbox " edition software upgrade coming early next year that will cover loads more.

The Nanocom just does,nt seem to be coming, and I like the fact that theres someone on the end of the phone if you get stuck.

Its just nice not to be in the dark now when a problem comes up.
