Hi, bought my first Defender TD5 a couple of weeks ago. Very happy with it so far. She's currently away having the wheels refurbished. I have XS seats to fit, heated seat wiring loom, LED headlights, LED indicators, Momo sterring wheel, a short range gear shift, new cubby box. So as usual going all in on my new hobby ! New bumper already fitted with LED's and the steering bash plate has been powder coated. I plan to make her individual, but still retain the classic look ! Oh and the sound proofing is in the post. Not to mention loads of additional security..... Thinking about a mild engine map if anyone has any suggestions.

Very nice; I like the way you are going with it as well.
My son has a Stormtuning remap on his D90 and I have an Alive one on my D2. Different gearing and mine is an auto, so not possible to compare the two, but both are far better than standard.

Thanks ! I've been searching all the threads and there's a lot of old information about mapping, but of course things move on. I'm not interested into turning it into a GTi, but it would be good to make it smoother and more drivable if that's possible !

You might want to watch this which goes into some detail regarding a Stormtuning Stage 2 remap on a D90 TD5.
Liam and Nisse are usually at the LRO Show in September, so you could ask them their opinion direct.

hello there.
Stormtuning and Alive Tuning are definitely the two companies that crop up the most.
In general a Stage 1 take BHP from about 122bhp standard to 150-160bhp.
Stage 2 takes it to about 180 bhp. More is possible of course, but you might need to look at upgrades for the turbo intercooler & hoses.

Bought my first TD5 earlier this year and still tinkering with changes.
