After some advice please,
I am trying to get my interior lights working with the door earth switches.
Purple wire at light = 12v
Black = good earth.
Door switches tested and working
The problem is the purple white (switched earth from door switches via factory alarm unit)
This wire is reading 10v?!?!?!?
At the light end and also at the door switches.
I've unplugged the 10as factory alarm and tested again, the door switched earths work as they should, and by linking the door switch wire (blue) to the purple white from alarm to light all works as it should.
So. I'm thinking the alarm unit has issues.
Do I replace the alarm unit and get it programmed to the vehicle or do I cut the wires (blue, drivers door and purple white) at the plug and join them. Make the plug end tails safe and plug back in.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
Nb, the alarm/immobiliser is disabled as the truck has thatcham aftermarket.
