TD5 CRACKED HEAD ?

I AM NEW TO THIS SITE AND HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH MY 2002 DISCO. I HAVE HAD A NEW FUEL PUMP FITTED ANDNEW INJECTOR SEALS AND COPPER WASHERS FITTED BOTH LAST NOV.THE Car now wont start . The garage have said the head is cracked but you cant test them .
has anyone had similiar symptons re the head was cracked ? previous it would just brake down once it got over 40 mph. starting was the main issue . its been ok for 9 months and now the same issues.
any advice appreciated

if head was cracked id expect it to be filling sump with diesel ie oil level appears to get higher on the dip stick

Damn when you put cracked head - i thought it said crack head and got excited. I thought i had Someone else to talk about drugs to

turn your caps lock off,if it started ok but cut out over 40 id suspect other issue than pump and injector washers that usually show poor starting too ie excessive cranking to start

up until last oct it started on the button, the garage said at the time it was one of 3 things, once they changed the seals after the pump it was ok until recent when it started to not start, when I can get it to start you can hear the pump all the time. The AA used brake cleaner via the air intake to get it going when I broke down last week

So it's about a starting issue or it stops while driving too ? anyway from these symptoms to jump to cracked head conclusion is quite exagerated... it can be as simple as crank sensor signal failure or other management issue, was it scanned with a dedicated diagnostic tool? if not the discussion is feckless

yes it is a starting issue and it just stops while driving . Breakdown guy said if i had driven no more than 30 mph the car probably wouldn.t just stop.The garage say its a cracked head but have not suggested anything else, Another breakdown guy said it could be fuel pressure regulator but the garage said no. When the breakdown guy got it started he plugged his device in but no fault codes came up . Thanks for advice

have they checked fuel pressure,and flow by removing the drain plug on the bottom of the filter then switch ignition on,should flow like a good running tap not splutter,the factparts have been changed at some point doesnt mean they cant be faulty

Can't a cracked head be diagnosed with a compression test or a leak down test?
Or is that just too old skool?

The garage told me that it’s not possible to do any test for a cracked head ,

IMO the symptoms described cant be caused by a cracked head just like that. The vehicle must be hooked to a diagnostic tool

You can try yourself to rule out the air bleed valve(WJN5200110) cos that one used to cause such issues especially when starting but in rare cases it can make it cut out too, it's in the rear outer port of the filter head, easy to replace...if you replace it run a purge before you crank it
