Good day gents,

Today when I wanted to fit the pistons into the block I noticed the conrods were fitted the wrong way around (dimple/hump) is facing to the rear of the engine instead of the front. It has been running this way for 30000km's. (The reason I stripped the engine was because the turbo oil feeder pipe burst and #3 mains got damaged).

The pistons can only go in one way because of the "cutout" for the oil squirters? So then if I have the pistons the right way then the conrods are wrongly installed?

Am trying to find an explanation why the "dimpel/hump" on the conrod MUST face forward.

I do not have arrows on my pistons.

Thank you

turn the conrods round so pistons and dimples face the right way

Run a td5 engine for 3 yrs wondering why the engine bounced and run uneven on tickover .so sourced a lovely doner engine and decided to strip my originall 06 engine on doing so found no 1 cylinder and no 3 cylinder dimples were the wrong way ie opposite side to arrow on piston crown.was this a factory mistake or someones been ther before? New rings shells and hone 6000 miles later like wow can rest my tea on rockerbox now used to throw it off before so id say do what manual says arrow must be same side as boss on conrod arrow facing front of engine
