my slave cylinder has started to leak and eventually loose clutch altogether , changed the slave yesterday and was working good but the pedal is a the floor even after a good bleed, the pin between the clutch fork and slave cylinder has worn down at the gearbox side, been trying to get one but no-one seems to have any or even know what im on about . land rover main dealer isnt open to the new year so does anyone know somewhere i can get this pin? if not does anyone know the genuine part number

thanks

thats the one,thank you:)

Are you SURE the pin has worn down?

Ask here how long this thing should be, then measure yours.

There are other things much more likely to wear down before that pin.

Can Disco Gurus tell us - do these pins wear down enough to cause trouble?

never seen one ,the end which fits into fork can wear but it would have to be a few mms , i would check it was bled properly as can be difficult especially if damper in line

i had to replace one in a td5 in work before where it wore down and cracked the clutch fork because it went elliptical, put a pressure bleader on it today to bleed it again and definatly no air, from the bore scope the pin does seem to be further in than expected to be

Time to take off the slave cylinder and whip out the pin then examine the pin, aka the piston rod. The piston rod stays attached to the release lever I think. Has the release lever worn through where the rod shoves it?

I still think it is very unlikely there is wear on the piston rod as much as it would need to be to cause trouble.

The release lever may wear through where it bears on the ball spigot.
This allows the piston pin to go too far, and stops the clutch from working.

That is a gearbox off job to fit a new release lever.
