i think I know what's happened? If you get the clutch plate in the wrong way round I take it you get no cluch at all? I should have stuck to my thoughts and not listened to someone who knows all about stuff !!! Anyone else ? Looks like I need to pull the box out. I put the main hub on the clutch plate towards the pressure plate! :(

I would have thought it was impossible to fit the clutch 'the wrong way round' because it won't fit!

Bbut if you have, then congratulations on being the first!!

First make sure your hydraulics are all OK and bled and the fork and rod are all intact.

It is possible to fit the TD5 plate the wrong way round meaning plate is forced onto the flywheel so even with clutch engaged, the flywheel still turns the plate, but don't jump to the worst first. I'd need to see one to know exactly and I cannot remember as it's been over a year since I did a LR clutch but I think the taller boss side goes flywheel side, so that there is less of it to be taken up on the splines on the gearbox, if it's the other way around the splines run out and push the plate.
