TD5 Cigar lighter

just discovered that fag lighter in front consul doesn't work.
Had a look inside to discover its kinda 'rusty'!

anyone know how this comes out to replace it? do i have to take the consul out or is there a far easier way?

U dont have to take the console out completely but u have to release it and pull it back untill u can reach the back of the lighter.... i heard it's reachable if u remove the glovebox too but i didnt try that myself.... if it is, this variant looks easyer

You can't reach it through the glove box.

You can undo all the screws, and lift the centre console up at the back, but its a lot of effort and hard to get to.

For the effort its worth just remove the centre console, takes 1 min extra! Just don't lift your hand brake all the way back, or it breaks!

My lighter wasn't working, and I took the centre console off to discover it wasn't actually plugged in! maybe you should check this first haha.

i only want to be able to charge me phones up!!!!

I wanted to use my sat nav, but it kept running out of battery, it annoyed me so much. Thank god it was an easy fix!

The thing that annoys me is that it only works with ignition on, so I cant charge my phone in the car without having it running!
