td5 cd player

my apologys if this ha been asked before but i have an 03 td discovery with an visteon cd player in it ,i would like to replace this with a newer unit that will accept an ipod/mp3 connection but i would like to know if the steering controls will work with a different head unit any help would be gratefully accepted

i dont know about landys but my mate had to get an adpator to make controls work in his vauxhall when he replace head unit.

it depends what make the new head unit is, some work, some don't and some need interfaces.

Forget asking the spotty kid at halfords, they aint got a clue!

THe Sony XPLOD range of radio's have an adaptor that you can fit to make the controls work.
