Hi all, are the alternator brushes available separately for the Nippon Denso alternators ? I can find the diode pack but not the brushes.
Jumped into lunchtime, it started first time but the battery light came on & it only has 11.7 v across the battery when running. Thanks in advance.

Got it stripped, brushes were non existent so I was hoping it would be a £10 repair as the alt. bearings were fine but once I cleaned the commutator  see pics. New alternator it is :(. Thanks for all help.
Are there any recommendations for replacement/what to steer clear of?

Hi,
Just doing the same thing to the spare off my disco, had exactly the same fault and also found the commutator knackered. Found a new one on eBay quite cheap, bit of a sod to remove but cheaper than a new alternator.
Just going to try and fit the new one now.

Do you have a link to the copper slip rings please ? I will then recon the old one . I was going to collect a new Denso alt. tomorrow but it's about a 40 mile round trip & swmbo is out all day tomorrow & with the FL off the road I've no way of getting there so I've ordered a new Hella one of the bay tonight.

Here it is: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alternat...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

However, I went it fit it this evening and found it isn't exactly the same as the old one.
It's seems to be a slightly different type, with flats rather than grooves, which means you have to remove the groove on the end of the shaft, see pic.
It may be better to have another look on eBay and see if there is one that is the same. Also, I ended up destroying the old one getting it off so can't check the dimensions although the ID is perfect and the bearing still fits over the top.
