The long short and midget of this is..

The flexplate has exploded, and having owned nothing but auto's I kind of fancy stirring the gears rather than have it drive me..

Love the Auto..

But fancy a change, i'm assuming that the D2 auto body is the same as the Manual one?

I think the list goes as..

1 Pedal box
2 gearbox
3 propshaft
4 slave cylinder
5 Clutch/DMF
6 etc etc

i'm also assuming the BCU will need reprogramming?

Better forget about that if you want something ''clean'' and not a botch cos point 6 "etc, etc" is the killer, amongst others you need a manual ECU too and beside te pipework for clutch the wiring for the clutch switch has to be done ...etc etc. sell the auto and buy a manual if that's what you want
 
Aw, that's a shame, as I wouldn't mind doing it too. Don't know how rare manuals are, although I hate the idea and the practice of a DMF.
Think it is time to wait and see if anyone has done it and if they post on this thread.
Thort the ECU could just be told what gearbox was on and maybe the BCU from a manual could just be plugged in, but then you know my attitude to, and lack of knowledge of, modern electrickery.
 
IMO even if it was done and works it's still a bodged up thing since it's not factory fitted
I understand what you are saying, but if there are factory fitted manaul versions, then would it not be possible to replicate it? Even if you had to swap the whole loom and and all control units over? Lots of work I admit. Trouble is, if, like me, you have done a lot of work on your TD5, chassis welding, exhaust manifold, etc, you would not want to buy a manual just to get the gearbox but still having to face repeating on that vehicle the work done on the first one.
