TD5 aircon compressor

My aircon compressor seems to be rattling quite badly does anyone know if they can be reconditioned as the prices are well high and i've had some bad times on Evilbay with people selling tat that should be binned
Forgive me if i'm wrong but did someone on here say that you could fit a non ace non aircon belt and run like that till you get it fixed.

It might be just the clutch that's rattling, which can be changed separately (if you can find one). When the compressor on my D1 went I found a brand new one in the USA on ebay but it wasn't cheap.

I wouldn't consider a used compressor as the internals are very delicate.

I've just been looking at it and i'm not so sure now as the routeing looks like it would turn the power steering pump the wrong way.And that can't be right:doh:

U have to put an idler(ERR6493) around £10 instead of the aircon compressor...and everything will turn as it should
