Hello,

I happened to go under my Land Rovers engine today (doing something totally different) and to my horror noticed there was a missing bolt

Could someone let me know what the missing bolt should be doing and also any idea of the implication of driving without it?

Don't think it is the sump drain, as that is bolt toward the front of the engine to the left.

any help would be much appreciated

thanks

can see it now, its the wading plug, normally only fitted prior to deep water crossing, then removed again, its left out so oils can drain from bellhousing if there's a leak

Thank you very much....what a relief, thought it might be costly. Thanks for quick response.
