Hello landy zone I recently purchased an 02 td4 and was well pleased until it rained I know have two small damp patches on the front corners of the headliner and puddles in both front footwells it seems to be coming down behind the door pillars is this more likely to be windscreen or a problem with sunroof drain pipes any help, advice or even sarcasm would be appreciated

It can and I'm used to the water feature in the back (kind of handy for the dogs) but this is something else don't know what to do first pay the excess and have a new windscreen put in or take headlining out and investigate properly

Check the seams on the roof
I have a 2010 Defender and a short section of the roof seam joint had lifted, last panel running across the roof from left to right. As a consequence the water ran to the corners of the door pillars making me think it was the windscreen.
Check the foam seal between windscreen lower panel and bulkhead possibly perished, run a bead of silicone across it to seal.
I also found water running thro the door internal (it comes in at the window / runbber joint) and instead of draining out of the door drain holes leaked between the door frame and door card straight onto the floor. Removed door card and taped in polythene to direct water to drains

Thanks glasgie I'm kinda new to land rover ownership was hoping someone would say this is what it is and this is how you fix it in 5 mins guess I'll take the headliner out this weekend. Land rover the only car with factory fitted weekend projects as standard. stops us getting bored I suppose

Thanks for the responses the windscreen wasn't sealed properly along the top water was pouring in and filling the box section that the sun visors are fitted to then going down behind the pillars and into the footwells if the rain was heavy enough the box section was filling up and dripping from access holes onto the headliner
