Hi, I am sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, basically thieves have smahed my drivers lock trying to get in and I had it on deadlock but, my battery in vehicle is low so key fob wont unlock so, I can't get in. I know its possible to get 12 v on to the starter motor but, it seems tough to get at from underneath without jacking car up, will jacking car up set the alarm off.
Any advice and help would be very welcome.

At this point..... what have you got to lose by doing so? :)

If you have a towbar with electrics, 12v is on there.
Somewhere I have seen a way of popping bonnet with door locked. From grille.

Hi

Since you need to change the driver lock, break the driver window …
Rather than break the window do you think If I drilled the lock out that I will be able to unlock that way as I believe its all solanoid activated butdrivers door obvously has a mechanical mechanism so maybe that could work?

The lock barrel runs via a thin rod to the lock actuator.
If you can remove the barrel, which is damaged anyway, you should be able to operate the door mech with a screwdriver as if it were a key. From memory the thin rod pulls out of the lock mech so damage is limited to the lock barrel and rod only.
The rod has a disc on the end with 2 ears to engage with the mech. A screwdriver of the right width should engage.

Good luck. Can't see point in smashing windows, the mess is awful.

I got lucky today as I think with temp being warmer I went to go under the car to look at starter then I thought I will press key thob and hey presto , doors unlocked so, I think the temp was jsut enough for battery to warm up and have enough charge for receiver for fob so now I am happy but, will make easier to replace the lock.
I appreciate all your good ideas and help.
Thank you all

Will look at the lock mechanism as I can now get in and use your advice to dissemble it all from the inside. Thankyou

You didn't specify 3 or 5 door !!
