So whats the difference between the freelander sport and the sport premium ?

upgraded harmon kardon sound system ??

does it sound any good ?

ie worth getting the premium instead of the standard model ?

whats the other differences between the two models ?

Thanks

i have an ES premium. i wouldnt call the sound system good at all, infact its ****! the drivers side hardly works, all three speakers, the tweeter the front door speaker and the rear speaker. im looking at replacements now, but struggling to find decent ones that will fit without a spacer being made. as for the leather, its great, apart from being cream.

mick.

I looked at a premium and to be honest the half leather looks nicer than the full leather plus fabric centre panel wears better.

Thanks for all your replys people.

Si;

Have you got a freelander sport then, can you comment on it at all ? any good ? :p:p:p

Thanks

had my 05 plate sport premium for a year now, piece of **** to service yourself if your that way inclined. and hasn't missed a beat in 12 months, especially in the snow last year

cant speak highly enough of it really, and it seams to be worth more now than what i paid a year ago !

It's 3.45am and I am on my way to pick it up!!!! I have a 220 odd mile drive home so when I get back later I will let you have the full low down.

Sounds promising already though based on hustlers post.

OK so as promised, I had a look around the Sport this weekend. It was essentially the same as the HSE but with lower suspension and 18" alloys.

It was lovely though :) Depending on how the sale of the Alfa goes, we might be back to look at it. I personally preferred the black HSE they had there with the cream interior, the mrs preferred the blue SP with the black interior. I smell a fight brewing :p

I would be interested to know the differences between the HSE and the Sport?? I know wheels and suspension are different, anything else?

Did you drive both? How did you find they compared?

Apart from the wheels and suspension, the two I looked at were basically the same. I don't know if the H-K is standard or optional on the sport though. The HSE had SatNav as well which I think is standard on it. Basically I don't think there's any real options on the HSE.

To drive they were both very similar to be honest. Pushing it into a roundabout the Sport had a bit less roll, but I preferred the ride on the HSE (and of course there's a broader selection of tires for it compared to the 18"s on the sport).

I'll be happy with either of them though as soon as I have the funds sorted. Literally the only real difference was in the body roll.

Normal sport is differnet mind - half leather and seemed to be equivelant to the SE spec but with 18s and the different suspension, wheras the Sport Premium seemed based off the HSE.

Bear in mind this was just a handful of distinct cars though, there may be other permutations out there.

Ah I see, well I have a Sport, no premium that I know off although it has very strange seat material - almost like Goretex outer bolsters with all I can describe as 'bubbles' in the centre panels?!?

Very unusual but great for me and with a new baby soon looks very wipe friendly!! Lol!!

2.0 hippo - I am chuffed to bits with my TD4 Sport, I was unortunante to experience the clutch master cylinder failure but then reading these forums it seems a common fault and not a dear one to fix. It was also due a service so has just had a full 60k service which is good for peace of mind before the winter.

It seems a very accomplished vehicle and for what we intend to use it for as a family it's perfect. Had I taken the time to try a couple I may have plumper for an HSE as the Sport does ride VERY hard and you feel everything. I came from a Subaru Impreza wagon and before that a VX220 so it wasn't such a shock for me.

The equipment level is good, I have 'gore-tex' seats a cracking stereo with 6cd changer, also the best invention ever - a heated front windscreen!

I would recommend it but do try before to buy to see if you can live with the suspension, I think it looks a stunning car with te facelift front and in black with the alloys and roof rails still turns heads.

I have a few plans for mine but the base car is great, if there is anything you want to know specifically just ask or drop me a PM.
