can anyone help my td4 is sluggish on acceleration .
I have had new maf & map sensors , new glow plugs . full service , egr blank off , bmw crank case upgrade . and still sluggish yet when I take plug off maf its great. I had new one tested and it works ( Land Rover part ).
garage recons in need all injectors doing. but if it was the injectors it would be still sluggish after unplug maf.
so any help would be great . I'm thinking of putting chip box on it to see if that helps.

Have you checked the the vacuum pipes for holes, splitting and cracking? And also make sure the turbo vane actuator is free to move.

How sluggish are we talking? Don't forget that the TD4 FL1 only has around 65 Bhp per tonne. So it's definitely not a road burner, in fact it is positively slow.

The 1.8 K series is much faster, but not so good at towing, and not so economical.

Mine is sluggish like that, particularly if the engine is cold.

There's nothing wrong with my injectors, but I just drive it if I'm honest. I'm going to check my boost solenoid when the weather is better, but I'm in no rush, as mine hasn't changed in the 3 years I've had it.
It's strange the unplugging the MAF suddenly reduces the delay.

I had the boost checked its not that . I think I will try a chip box to see if that gets rid of the lag . I may try and swap it for a 3 door petrol at some point . I think its me looking in to it a bit to much . but thanks for your time.

just fitted pro Bitz chip box and what a massive difference no lag now . going to have a play with it tomorrow see if I can get a bit more out of it.
