TD4 o/s/r elecrtic window

Could someone help me please?
I have a problem with my driver side passanger electric window, the other day my son pushed the button to drop the window, it then proceded to make a horrible noise, then the window would neiter go up or down, upon getting home and trying to investigate I was confronted with a few white bits of plastic in the bottom of the door, would this mean getting another regulator mechanism or could it be fixed with the countless fixing kits on fleabay, any help would be much appreciated my fellow Landroverers

Sounds like a snapped cable in the regulator. Your choice is either a replacement cable kit, make your own cables (how to on here) or a new regulator.

I recently fitted a new cable kit from ebay, 1st one didn't work properly but the 2nd one is fine

Had a similar problem. White plastic bit is one of the cable guides. With mine, the cable had seized in the outer sheath (Bowden cable) due to rust. The white guide then snapped off the end of the regulator. I did manage to repair mine as the cable had not broken but was jammed around the drum. I fixed the remains of the white plastic guide onto the metal guide with self tapping screws! However, unless you are as daft as me, with plenty of time on your hands, I suggest you either buy a new regulator, or a cable kit which includes all the guides and outer cabling. Best of luck, Eric
