Is this the cheap bluetooth obd?
Check especially the small ones that go from or to the vacuum. Might be hard to detect it...

One goes under the egr area that one was dead on mine. Another goes to turbo and not sure what else is there.
Could benefit from a proper diag as many things can cause this...

Thanks - might be another thing to replace as a "just-in-case".
Do you happen to know if it's 3mm 4mm or 5mm?

Vacuum pipe arrived today (good old Amazon Prime!)
Replaced the 2 I could see but on start-up no difference at all.
Will let it get warm and see what it's like then.
I also have a low pressure fuel pump waiting to go in, just wanted to see if the vacuum pipes made a difference.

Too far. It's very easy if pump cost is less than 100 forget it.
Could be a hose split, turbo solenoid, lp pump, turbo. guess game can get expensive and without results...

So I guess the next step should be to get better diagnostic data.
Do you recommend a particular reader? Mine doesn't seem good enough and it would be stabbing in the dark to guess at another one.

Indeed it will. For 10x the price. And there are very few things that you can see with that, ones I've found is fuel correction and cylinder roughness.
Everything else is in the 30 quid one :)

The Hawkeye will program key transponders etc into the ECUs, it will activate the ABS pump to bleed the brakes etc.

There are a number of things one of the more expensive units will do that the lower priced ones won't. Not quite like having a T4 in your garage, but the nearest you're likely to get.

Something else I just noticed:
I replaced a hose recently but it looked like some oil has sprayed onto it.
On investigating further one of the EGR bolts is missing and it looks like it isn't sealing!
Definitely going to be losing some boost pressure there surely. That's my next job.

You can get ei gasket for a fiver or something on ebay if it's not a nice seal. Or replace the manifold if the screws are wrong. I have one in the shed :D
