Freelander 1 TD4 Low Pressure sensor

Can I drive my freelander with the lp sensor off because it drives really well and can’t find the fault

When plugged in get warning light and won’t go above 2500 rpm but when unplugged runs good

Your low pressure pump isn't delivering enough pressure for the EDU, so is limiting power. Unplugging the LP sensor simply forces the EDC into assuming that the LP is acceptable. This is bad as it could damage the HP pump, through lack of fuel. Restoring the LP to correct pressure is a much safer solution.

Do you think getting a new lp sensor will sort it
 
You need to look at the live data before condemning the LP sensor. The LP supply should show more than 350Kpa at full power, preferably 380Kpa +. The sensor is a thousand times more reliable than the LP pump. So if you are getting a MIL under load load, it'll be the filter blocked, or the pump itself.

You should heed the comment about damaging the HP pump.

Have a read of this thread, it describes similar type symptoms although I doubt it will be the same problem. It does though describe testing methods if you want a backup reading to the LP pressure sensor and its part number...
