Hiya,, just a quick question folks... When replacing the injectors on a td4 do they need coding prior to running? (ie connecting to laptop and syn with ecu or whatever)

Yes,, i've had problems with rough running and bad pinking noises when cold. someone told me it needed new injectors.. i purchased 4 from ebay, but the car now runs poorly and a 'mechanic' said that the injectors need to be setup,, I believe he is incorrect.

no setting up needed, they work "out of the box" were the ones you bought new or refurb or just as was

HaHaHaHa too true.
Always try changing fuel filter, crankcase breather filter/valve & using a good injection cleaner in your fuel before parting with serious cash for injectors.
I take it you've checked out your MAF.
Hope you get sorted soon.

I would check the low side fuel pressure and do a leak off test on the injectors before replacing anything. Never take a "mechanics" advise, hows he going to know without checking anything?
