My parents are running a two and a half year old Freelander Td4 which as done around 40,000 miles. About three weeks ago they were haveing problems getting it started so took it to a local garage. after a bit if investigating it was found that three of the four injectors had failed and required to be replaced.

Has anyone else have this sort of problem after such a short period of time or could it be a one off??

We had that one too. The car became increasigly difficult to start and was diagnosed as the injectors bypassing fuel - i.e. they were so worn out they were piddling, not squirting. All 4 were replaced.

Since then the damned thing has self-destructed and has gone. The Freelander was a miserable little thing that cost big money to fix, often.

If it's at the dealers it's broken, if it's not, save up, it's just a matter of time...:(

...and whilst I remember the knackered injectors caused further damage to the head - which needed replacing too. Something to do with the new injectors failing to seat properly because of erosion?
