td4 fuel pump sorted

i have been reading some threads relating to where and how many pumps are fitted to a td4. as i have just fitted one to a 02 plate with 03 spec it was under the rear right wheel arch along with filter and sedimenter there is no pump in the tank this is the sender unit only . land rover glasgow wanted £202 for the pump got o.e pump from euro car parts £88+vat took an hour to strip down and re build job done.p.s when the car broke down wife phoned AA who sent out a **** from 911 recovery who by the time i got to the car had been turning the engine over so much we had a flat battery and he was trying to tell me i had a jammed starter on asking him how much mechanical experience he had he told us he had worked for arnold clark (that explained everything) he recoverd the car to my house and on his paper work his reason for breakdown suspect starter motor . it took myself and a mate with a test lamp 15 min to find the fault .

Good info there, especially re the Arnold Clark ****. Wonder if he graduated from Fiat in Allison Street, their incompetence is legendary, I know I experienced it first hand 15 years ago. About 4 years ago I warned someone against using them But he went ahead anyway......& no, they hadn't improved.
