well my td4 is leaking diesel from tank area at rear and engine.went to try and remove high pressure pump with special tool.which is great bit of a strip down eventually to pump.take out a cover with an allen key.with special tool you screw in outer section to keep everything flush.try screwing on another section and it will not grip it properly so i cant put bolt in to slip out fuel pump.so ive got a great car which i know nearly every nook and cranny with leaks diesel as fast as i can put it in.so im looking for another freelander td4 so i can take all the good bits off mine and put on new motor.ANY IDEAS

For the cost of getting another one, you might be better off taking it to a specialist and getting them to fix it.

Did you remove the retaining nut, before installing the outer part of the tool?

I don't think a fuel leak should be considered terminal.
I'm sure you'll get some advice from here, or have a word with Freelander Specialists in Brandon - they're just down the road from you.

yes i did it will grip but not enough for centre bolt to remove pump
will give them a call

Which part won't screw in, the outer section or inner section?
retaining nut was removed before trying to attach middle part of tool.before inserting bolt into it
inner section the part the bolt goes in
