Hi guys,
Has anyone used one of these clutch kits which include a solid flywheel conversion to permanently replace the DMF?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Land...L-AND-CLUTCH-KIT-WITH-CSC-SLAVE-/264257647658
The situation we have is that my buddy is running a 2005 Freelander TD4 with 70k miles and the clutch pedal is right down on the carpet. I run the auto version myself so I've checked previous posts and it seems that the dual mass flywheel is probably due for replacement anyway. But my buddy is on a very tight budget and needs a cheap but reliable fix. The above kit is available from many eBay sellers and I chose the cheapest from a seller in Blackpool at £169. You will see that it has all the parts for a clutch swap plus a solid replacement flywheel with a lifetime guarantee. Whereas the very cheapest DMF I could find was £308 plus around £100 for the clutch parts. So a substantial saving and permanently avoiding expensive DMF renewal. Apparently the DMF's role is to give slightly smoother clutch engagement but I can't see that as a serious issue.
Your views/ideas very much welcome.
