TD4 Auto Kickdown

Hi ,

I am running a 2004 TD4 (facelift) and kickdown does not appear to be working correctly. If I press the accelerator pedal down hard there is no reaction from the gearbox.
I have tried various searches and been unable to find much information in regards to the freelander, plenty for the Disco's etc.
Normal up and down changes appear to be working.
Is this a cable or electronic operation.
I have looked on the RAVE disk and just can't get to grips with it.
Any information would be welcome.

no cable all electronic apart from selection with stick,get it put on diagnostic reader and see what it says ,but dont spend a fortune till you lets us know results

Its just gone on camping holiday for a few days will look at getting it on a diagnostic machine when the misses brings it back.

Others have had throttle position sensor trouble causing kick down failure. Diagnostic is the easiest way forward.

Is it any better in Sport mode? That is supposed to drop quicker than normal. What revs are you at when trying to kick down? 2000 + revs doesnt kick down quick on mine either.

Have connected diagnostics reader, no fault codes showing.
Realtime throttle position reading from 0-93%.
Kickdown seems to be normal when running in sport mode.
switch back to normal no kickdown.
