td finally gone bang :( any one got a doner??:)

well me td has met its maker on the week end. turbo went bang and it inhaled the shrapnel so all is not well with my beasty.
seems its the ideal time to stick a tdi in it. anyone got a disco doner they want to sell?? preferably not to far from me as aint got a tow motor anymore anything considered for reasonable money got cash waiting.

have you got any plans for the top end of the old engine ? - specifically the rockers and rocker shaft ?

prefer to get rid of the whole engine tbh, but no have no plans for it as yet.
would make bloody good engine for some one with a little work, just had valves done, timing belt, lift pump, valve seals, thermostat, full service. its just the turbo thats gone pop and wants the head off to check for bits in head. no nasty noises in the engine itself, infact its like a swiss watch! but its only done 27000 since it was built by turners, got the certificate and reciepts from them.
basically just head off to check and new turbo and its good to go. good replacement if you got a tired one.
nothing against the td i think its got a bad rep, but if im going to have it off the road to work on the engine again i may aswell replace it with an aguably better engine

think yer underestimating the amount of damage that might have been done - but if you want rid of it please let me know

oh yeah i probly am tbh. but il give you shout on it soon as i get a replacement
would prefer a complete disco as it gives me all the bits n pieces.

I've got all that off my old TD engine, should be in pretty good nick (engine was reasonable before the head went)

picked up my doner today 93 200 tdi disco with 79000 gen miles on clock. plus as a bonus its got a set of 265 bf goodrich at tyres on black 8 spokes , so will also be going on the 110 oh and set of spacers.
drove it back from liverpool and engine is bloody lovely. so i know what il be doing this weekend.

sean........ i have a td on the drive ...collect and its yours ...complete with turbo ...changed mine for a tdi so no use for it ...it smoked but ran ,,,,but i never really ran it .... bought the 90 and changed it straight away ...free to anyone who wants to collect it ...hampshire

why is everything darn south - cheers for the offer, much appreciated - but have purchased some rockers and a shaft from Langers

been having a crawl around under my doner today and bloody hell its good!! bloke before has done all the welding plus new rear floor and rear cross member! sills are done as well! dont know how i keep finding doners that arnt rotten!
oh well im still ripping its heart out this weekend
