going to take landrover for mot friday and if all is well might buy tax sat online
does that mean i can drive it sunday legally if they send me the tax in the post theres a ford local i want to go through and take some photos

As far as I'm aware the offence is failure to display the disc in your car so even if you get it online ' the it's in the post line won't work '

IF there is tax in place on the vehicle (I.E you bought it online) then the chances are that no one will give a hoot IF you are not displaying it,YES technically it's an offence but as long as you have paid up you should be fine ...
I usually print out the online receipt out to carry with me never had to use it though even on Monday night after being stopped on the way back from Cumbria by a motorway unit on the M1 Nr to Wakefield in my S3 .
He was more concerned that there was no MOT showing (Mot'd 1pm on Friday and system not up to date )
But could see that it was taxed on the system so presumed it was MOT'd too .

You only get 5 days if it already had tax on it.

Copied from Directgov website -
When you apply for a tax disc online or by using DVLA's phone service you are able to legally continue to drive your vehicle for up to 5 days after the tax disc has expired while you wait for the new tax disc to arrive. This will only apply when you have applied for a new tax disc before the current one expires. You should continue to display the expired disc on your vehicle, until the new one arrives

I've always driven it as soon as I've paid online. Like most things nowadays, it's simply a case of "computer says no" or yes in this case.

The ANPR cameras use the database which is updated, seemingly, nigh on immediately.

You'd be the unluckiest person in the world to find a plod who could be bothered to get out of his car to look at the windscreen.

Why not take rocker cover off and turn engine over and check that the valves are moving, yourself??

a simple visual inspection will tell you if ones stuck???
