Tapping

Hi just wondering if anybody could give some advice i have a tapping noise from my engine loud when i start up but after a run its quieter im not really an engine man but any ideas would be grateful cheers paul

Nearly forgot to say its a 1990 3.9V8 RRC efi

dont listen to em, get your self some new engine oil, filter etc and a good engine flush should sound like a new one after as it has hydraulic tappets and loves clean oil

my mates come had alook and have suggested the same thing so shall be doing at weekend cheers for the replies even tho i feel the **** was taken lol
