Thank you very much for the replies. I've now uploaded the video to you tube. Apologies for the quality of the visual but the video is in the area of where the engine joins to the automatic transmission.
Here is the link:

Looking forward to your replies!!

Seems to be a problem with the video!! I'll try again later.

One quick question, if it is the drive plate would the noise still be there when the car is in park?

Yes, drive plate is fixed to the engine so if it's broken it will still rattle in gear.
It might change note when you put it in gear as there will be more load on it

All the symptoms point to a worn engine/low oil pressure at tickover/ worn big end bearing. Once warm and the oil is thin the worn oil pump struggles to reach much more than 10-15 psi, but rev the engine and the pressure rises back to 30-35 psi. Worn bearings also contribute. I would drop the sump and remove big end caps one at a time. Look for bearings that fall out of their end caps on their own - i.e. Have lost their springiness that holds them into the end cap/conrod. Also look for discoloured inner surface of the bearing. All point to worn big ends and the knocking noise.
Cure? Engine rebuild I'm afraid
