The valve clearances should be about 0.010", TEN THOUSANDTHS of a good Christian Imperial INCH.

If you are some sort of Continental pervert, that's about a quarter of a millimetre.

Whether too tight or too slack I can think of no reason why this setting could affect crankcase pressurisation, which is almost entirely caused by gas passing the piston rings - unless you have a blown head gasket or some other big problem.

If he set the valves to 25 thou it would be noisy but hardly disastrous.
Sort of a lot of clickety-clackety noises.

Remember, the crancase WILL pressurise unless the fumes are easily vented from the breather system. FIRST, make absolutely sure the breather system is clear, hose by hose, every pipe, all clear and clean.

Then worry about doing a total engine rebuild with a re-bore, or at best fitting new piston rings after glaze-busting the bores.

Adjusted em up tonight...All were pretty tight



Went for a drive, no oil leaks, seems back pressure is gone....

If they were too tight, then maybe one was leaking back up the stem???

Dunno will take her to work tomoz....... Now wheres me RAC card...........

Good.......... But you really do need to get out a bit more.
 
if i stayed in as much as you then i wouldn't have the worldly experience that i have, and therefore my contribution to LZ wouldn't be so colourful.
so before you start going on about get out more and get a life i suggest you take a long hard look at what you have done, what you have acheived and how far from the end of yer own street you have travelled. then see if you have wit to keep up wiff the rest of us that dunt get out much

i just know me last sentence would be most apt

(if that gets you all disconbobulated aswell, might i suggest you seek help in understanding it. maybe yella or grunt could help you will the big wurds)
