Series 3 Tappet gaps - Rimmer Bro's

I was googling for valve guides and came across this video on YT from Rimmer Bro's on tappet gaps, here the guy says that inlet gaps are smaller than exhaust gaps .. having always done mine both the same I wondered if this is only because its a diesel in the video or is there a trick here that I have missed?

The book says they are the same gap so I don't see any reason to not go with that. To be honest, in an engine like that in a landrover, the gap isn't as critical as many seem to think.

Morning Col, i agree, having done this for years with the same gap it threw me right off and as I couldn't find any info on the web with those values it made me wonder .. i'll just carry on as before.

Well, it's bright and sunny but a bit nippy, about 8 degrees C. It needs to be about 12 or above before I muck about with tools.

Never heard of different gaps, sounds like the bloke trying to be clever if you ask me.
What does he do when he sees the plate in the rocker cover!?
