Tailgate wont lock at all....

Hello,

I have a 1999 2.5 DSE. The central locking went on me on the front two doors.After much fluting about i simply decided to replace the Door locks as it turned out the motors had gone bad.It was just after the front door locks stopped working off the remote that the top tailgate stopped locking into the bottom, IE (the glass bit into the bottom), now i have opened up the back to see its not mechanical and there is no motor to go bad....anyone have any suggestions??

you could try resetting the system with the eka code and see if this jogs it back into life

how do you reset the system?

if you take off the battery leads for half an hour or so, you will need to enter the eka code. this somtimes sorts out little niggles in the system and may help. at least it will rule out the security system as the cause!
