Good day people!

I noticed this morning that my tailgate on my 97 discovery 1 doesn't lock with the central locking, I jumped in back(felt like a dog looking out the rear window so close to it) and locked it with my fob, it went down then jumped back up, so I ripped apart the shoddy door card(isn't normal one held on by few screws) and looked inside and what not sprayed some magic juice in there to lube the joints, tried it and it worked and stayed down, put it all back together and tried it, still jumps up? So ripped it apart again and pulled about operated it by hand and what not, if I do it by hand it stays down, so I took abit more attention to the actuator, took this off had a gander and pressed the top in where it joins to the rods and this is floppy? Is that suppose to be that way?

Also, my interior lights are staying on (searched cleaned up all connections etc) other thing is mfu, but only thing that doesn't work is the rear heated screen (when pressed button doesn't illuminate) every thing else works as it should, I wired a couple led strips in the boot tapped into the original boot light and this turns off and on when tailgate is opened and closed as it should, is this on a different circuit to the front lights?

Ah, only the boot light comes on when door is opened and goes off when closed both other lights stay turned on when in auto position

Youve got dodgy door connector then if lights stay on.if you open a
1 door at a time and press the switch then if light comes on its ok if it doesnt its that switch Also rear screen will be a new switch off ebay mate.
