Just had same problem check plug and circuit to bulbs

Do u still have side lights at the front? if so then check for voltage at the rear.

Iffy bulb holder connection maybe, I spent half hour replacing my stop tail bulb due to this although it looked ok and fitted correctly, not easy to get at either.
