Hello All.

While driving my 3 door facelift on some occasions the open door light on the dash appears which I have nailed it down to the tail gate door.

Is there a fix for this, the door opens and closes fine as it should, though if the red light is still on the dash, the window will not go up. I find when I close the tail gate very gently this causes the window to go up and then I can lock the car, without the horn sounding once.

I think it can only be the lock mechanism or the micro switch towards the bottom of the door, though if I am wrong please tell me. Also when the light is on the dash I can lower the window while driving but it won't go back up, due to thinking that the door is open.

I can feel and hear the clicking when opening the door, both from the handle and he switch at the bottom to if that helps.

I've been looking to find a cure for my tail door problem. There's good info' here: tailgate window not dropping. It could be the two small springs inside the door's handle are missing faulty and not exerting sufficient pressure on the micro switch to turn off that warning lamp - maybe! Have a search / browse you'll find lots of others who have had similar problems.

I don't think there is a problem with the window, I think its more to do with the door lock - window works perfectly going up and down on the internal switch and the fob.

Though I can't insert the key and raise it back up in the tail gate lock, but thats a minor issue. More worried about the door lock and why the car thinks that the tail gate is open.
