Synergy 2...

The instructions are pretty good, it took me about 20 minutes. I mounted the unit onto the plastic box above the battery. I fed the longer wire under the inlet manifold and it really is all just common sense with the connections. Small cable ties keep all the wiring etc pretty much out of sight.

I had mine set to '6' most of the time.

I've got the tuning box all installed, only took 20 minutes. Have not changed the MAF sensor as i couldn't get the bloody old one out?

Does anyone know what size torx tr size i need? thanks

Do you need to fit the new MAF, the synergy 2 has got MAF compensation. Got mine set to 6 with MAF comp turned off, it has completely transformed the performance in every way except stopping distance , looking at upgrading the brakes now;). If I want to turn it into a getaway car all I need to do is switch on the MAF comp & it leaves a smoke screen that the Navy would be proud of :D.

According to roverrons page Synergy 2 6 is for a pierburgh maf. I still have the bosch one.

I dont know when the maf was last changed if at all

You're right, I found the settings instructions a bit confusing, I remember I set it to the maximum for the Bosch MAF sensor with compensation off. At first I set the MAF compensation to med but it kicked out quite a bit of smoke so I am guessing my Maf didin't need compensation. 10/10 for function. Only criticism are the connections look a bit homemade.

EDIT.. Thought i had the correct tool  i need a Tamperproof Torx Plus 5 Point Star bit. Yet to get one of those.

Have it set on number 4 at the minute.. F**k me i thought i got in the wrong car, it goes like a bat out of hell and pulls like a train.

If anyone is thinking about getting a synergy 2, DO IT! you won't be sorry.

Best £180.00 i've spent:)

roverron is a legend

I had one for my MG ZTT cdti and it flew after and MPG incresed by 10MPG. Ordering one for my Td4 as same engine.

they're good them synergies. I've got the older synergy 1 with a separate Mafam Maf compensator & am well pleased. I mounted mine inside the airbox as I want to keep it cool. Also fitted an egr bypass & have gone as far as I can really. Mines an auto so I can't go to maximum settings as the gearbox isn't rated for the higher torque apparently. Taken Rons advice & gone for his maximum auto trans setting & am well pleased.

hi, i am thinking about getting the synergy 2 but have seen a few people have bought the pro bitz alternative . wondered how they had got on ?
