Ok, whats the difference between the 2 different types I've come across - one chrome and the other black.

The black ones are supposed tae be teflon coated.... either way, take yer pick

Got the black ones on mine and they've bin okay so far

Teflon and oneshot grease was introduced at the same time on new vehicles, is that a coincidence? .

Definately
