im pretty sure my swivel bearings may be fooked

driving yesterday you couldnt go above 35/4omph without the whole front end shaking violently and not being able to control the steering wheel then it would be fine and you could drive normal and it would just then come n go
i think the swivel bearings may have shims is and can be adjusted is this right and has anyone done this and it has worked?

200 tdi disco

I had the same problem, when I got home i had look and found oil all over the wheel .when i driving it i heard like a snap. every time i went round a corner it wanted to really pull me into it i had new swivel bearings put in and they use grease instead of oil.not sure about shims though.

swivel pins like others can have shims removed to tighten swivel bearings, if some play as long as bearings arent worn but swivel housing should only require about 2lbs pull unlike series or pre 300tdi defender as they use bush at top that needs to be tighter than disco with 2 bearings
