Switch main beam on and doesn't work& cuts out dipped too

Ok wise ones!

On my way to snowdonia at the weekend I switched my main (full) beam on and found myself in darkness!!

With lights on:

Stick forward > no main beam and cuts out dipped leaving only sidelights

Stick back to flash > no main but does not cut out dipped.

Found no blown fuses.

Suggestions or diagnosis much appreciated.

Ok so I'm just not getting a closed circuit on my full beams then.

But it's not working with the stick forward or back so an issue somewhere other than the stick? Or nit necessarily

Chack the contactors on the stalk by removing the dash. Can you hear the relay clicking when you stick main beam on?

Try overiding the stalk - if it work ok then your stalk is fubared.

had same problem took the fuse out cleaned the holder clip things they had a coating of what looked like limescase put the fuse back in....sweet

mine was that my landy was old and that the original contactor switch had worn out and wasnt touching

i replaced this and it worked perfectly
