So you've hung on to it for 4 years without fitting it?
Ah, I see, it "kept passing MOTs".
I couldn't stand the idea of possibly not having TC if I needed it. I only need it sometimes, but when I do, I do!
ABS and HDC? I sh!t em!;)
But this is deffo pushing me into fixing a connection to my diff lock, mine being a 2000 MY. ;);)

Was very sporadic, also got CDL anyway

Did you have to free it off before you fitted your mechanism to action it? Like you often have to with D1s that are underused?
I am expecting to have to do this.

I didn't realise it was an optional extra, mine was factory fitted.

I just saw the transfer box lever

Early D2s had the stuff in the box but no connection, middling ones didn't even have the stuff in the box and later ones had it and the lever as an option, I think!!!
So you was lucky!!
And I wonder what they did to the BCU to make it all compatible.
Acksherlly.........don't go,there. I couldn't take it!!!!

No idea but great for drag racing on snow

Well the latest news is that at 28.7 miles, all the amigos went out. I was sitting in traffic in a town not moving.

Then 1/2 mile down the road I was again just sitting in traffic and they came back on again!

At least it shows my connections must be OK.

Been a while but during the interim we went back to blighty for Dottir's wedding etc.
now own a Brian James trailer on which we brought the wife's car back so we have a runaround while i fix cars etc!
so now finally managed to do the mod to the noo one before fitting it.
The fitting of it was as much of a barsteward as the last time except that I at least was quicker having done it once.
and.........It all works!!!
As far as I can see. Ignition switch to ignition, which lit the lights then they went out.
Started the engine, they stayed out.
Have yet to drive it but having bench tested the switches too I am pretty confident it'll be OK.
so thanks to all on here who gave me the know how and the confidence to do what we all agree is a fiddly bloody job.
Cheers all!!!!!:):):):)
