May do been playing off road for many years now I will have to keep it out of harms way I bit I will say though the comfort in the Freelander is way better then the Toyota by the way I have also had a 90 Defender 2.8i which was a company car when BMW still owned Landy
 
@teddywood. With the 2 inch (ish) lift kit on the vcu / diff / exhaust are approx 2 inches hightet as they are bolted to the underside of the car. The wheel ends of the lower suspention will be in the same place.

The suspesion lift should allow bigger wheels/tyres to fit under the arches, with spacers on to stop the fronts one dragging on full lock.

Once the bigger wheels are on, the brakes will be crap, so brake upgrade is the next issue.

With bigger wheels on, 0-60 time will be less than it is now, engine can be upgraded with bigger turbo and phatter injectors.

By the time all that's done, the monthly insurance installments will be more>than the value of the car........

nothing wrongin a gylander - tiz just designed for a different purpose....

if yu wat a motor that isnt phased by mild laning and is good on the road in al weathers.
 
my mates gaylander work in progress currently 265/75/16 tyres being replaced with 33/12.50/15 soon
