Just got around to ordering all new terrafirma suspension equipment, and getting ready to put it all in. I've heard to use WD-40 on everything a week in advance to loosen it all up, but wondering if anyone has any tips during the install to help speed things up or make it easier by removing other parts.

what I have new is the following, all going on a 300tdi defender 90

Thanks in advance

Get yourself some PLUS GAS or similar penetrating oil. You'll find it much more effective than a Water Dispersant at loosening your nuts !!!

If you dont use your 300 as a DD then it would be worth removing the front turrets/shocks and while your there, rear dampers in advance. Would make installation a little quicker and easier.

Just take your time and 1st of all make sure you have all the correct parts before you start! The last thing you want is a missing bush.

Thanks for the advice everyone, it is my daily driver so taking things apart in advance isn't really possible.

Like you said griffdowg, once all the parts finally come in I'm gong to lay them all out on the ground and go through them all to make sure nothing is missing. That would not be good to to find I'm missing something, there aren't too many local defender parts stores over here in the states.

Dogsbody, I plan on soaking everything with the penetrating oil the night before. I've head that's necessary to parts off with out having to use the cutting wheel or drill to mangle it off.

thanks for the link Trewey, the visual stuff is also how I have learnt. Quick question, when you removed the front shock towers, did you have to disconnected anything from under the hood to make enough room to wiggle it out??

If you have access to a oxy/acetylene torch heat the nuts red and let cool and will make the job much easier:D

On the 200 you have to remove the air filter housing and the coolant header tank to lift the shocks and turrets out, havent a clue on the 300!
Just lay the tank out of the way no need to disconnect the hoses.

OK, I think I will have to do that too on the 300. All the terrafirma parts came in today, all look great. Waiting on the bearmach rose joint arms and polybush kit.
