Hi once again.

I have the issue of the air suspension compressor, running on (pulsating) after I've switched the engine off, slow at raising airbags. So I now have the option to either buy a repair kit and hope it works or get a 2nd hand unit and replace. Has anybody used the repair kits, if so any opinions, do they really work?

Thanks

IMO you have two problems then...the slow rising can be fixed with the repair kit, worked well for me but the fact that the compressor is running after you switched ignition off it's a management issue cos it's not supposed to happen whatsoever

replace relay R5 in engine bay cos maybe it's sticking

Hi Sierrafery, my 2003 runs the compressor for a few seconds after I've switched off, I thought it was just levelling everything up. Doesn't do it everytime though, just every now and again, are you saying it shouldn't do this. I've had it plugged in and there were no codes showing. If it is a problem what do you think it could be please..

I've heard about this oddity not once, it's deffinitely not supposed to do that, it's in the same cathegory with that ABS modulator clicking thing, some of them are doing it some dont... it can de a management glitch or as i said sticking relay, the system was conceived as the compressor to run only with engine running with only one exception
.....The air supply unit compressor will only operate to raise the rear of the vehicle when the engine is running, with the
exception of the remote handset operation which does not require the engine running.
Thanks both.

Will purchase a repair kit and relay and fit hopefully rectifying the issue. The suspension doesn't deflate in any way, just pulsates (on off on off) the pump and flattens the battery. Now I switch engine of and wait 30 seconds, if the pump starts pulsating put key back in ignition turn until ignition lights are on the switch off and remove key, then all is well. Like kingcarlos this doesn't happen every time but now it's more often than not. Sometimes i hear the pump running whilst stationary.
