Are you doing just the fronts??

If so there is only a lower ball joint....ball joint replacement is the same process as any other...needs to be split out of the socket and then unbolted from the bottom of the hub by the looks of it...

I trust you have RAVE!!

Yep got RAVE. Checked with suppliers and my friendly indie, apparently there is lower , attached to arm and upper , which separates. Only the upper is the issue but might as well get both done at same time.
I'll get a better look in next couple of days.

Linking to the competition: How To : Replacement of front lower ball joint arm...

Enjoy. Looks like it'll be a ballache without a ramp.

Thanks Bix. Got a 4 poster so one down a million others to deal with ;)

I only see one....on the bottom...also the prcedures in RAVE only list the lower joint....

The upp attachement is to the Air Strut and the Anti Roll Bar Links!!!

Think it is #7 in that diagram, judging from the photos in the thread.

Ok might not be that one then lol I never, ever said I was good at this type of thing. :D All I know is I was told to get the ball joint, the one that faces forward not on the angle . Then when I explained that to the parts people they came back with is it lower or upper. Upper is separate and lower is attached to arm.

The attached any use??

Callout 3050 - is what I was thinking about....it bolts to the bottom of the Hub

The Other Callout is the Compression Link, and it comes complete with the link arm and bush to bolt to the subframe

Great thanks Saint. I'll ake a proper look in the morning. It's bed time for those of us who have to work at silly o'clock.

Yes there is upper and Lower ball joint arms

Already done the lower ones last year on mine
Relatively straight forward

Just buy the whole arm including the joints

Otherwise you need a 2 tonne press to get the old joints out

Not worth the hassle so its easier to buy the complete arms

replace the ball joints would be cheaper then all them new parts. And now you have to schedule a front end alignment

I see it say's ****part on the label:eek: Still when you have learnt how to do it you will be able to do it quicker when you do it again in summer:rolleyes:

Keep the old parts, you may need them:)

Load of p!ss takers you are ! Lol

Nothing wrong with britpart !

Why would I buy just the bushes for £30 and then send then to a workshop to extract and change the old bushes when you can buy a complete arm for £50 ?!?

I need the wheels aligning anyway so that's why I'm changing these worn parts now otherwise it will throw the alignment out !
