Hiya.
Having to replace a suspension arm due to a fail on the mot for the lower ball joint. I am doing both sides at the same time however should I do the bushes too? If this is definitely necessary which ones do I need?

Also what is the best tool to remove and fit these and where should I buy it?
Thanks.

The new wishbones will come with the front bush already fitted.

The rear bushes are an absolute pain to get out, so I suggest getting them as complete housings. This means no cutting the old wishbones out and stuff. It's a few extra £, but saves masses for time and hassle. ;)

Yeah I know those big buggers are the ones I debating. Is it necessary to change them or not? If buying them with the housing where should I get it from? I’ve only found some on eBay but all aftermarket unknown brands

They can split, which obviously means replacing them. They can also seize to the pin on the wishbone, which makes removing them really difficult, or impossible with destruction of the wishbone or bushes or both.

I've removed the bush from the housing once, but never again.

I bought an aftermarket pair off ebay.
Something like these.

Ah okay. Bit more than I expected. You think it’s worth doing these then at the same time as the wishbone? If so I will order them. Thanks !

I'd check the condition of them first, and make sure the wishbone pins are free in the bush tubes. If the bushes are split, or seized sold to the wishbone pins, then you've no choice but to replace the bushes, and / or the housing too.
But from my experience, the bushes are very difficult to remove from the housing.

To take the bushings off the arms you need a pair of footprints.
Put the arm in a vice and use the footprints to grip the sleeve of the bushing. Chances are you will need a meter long pipe over the footprints to get enough leverage.
It usually works but no guarantee.
Bushings can be pushed in and out with a press or use a bottle jack against something suitably solid.
