biggin on the bump
but. i need you guys in the know to confirm my suspicion.
got a call from my wife on saturday to say the "self-levelling suspension" light was on. i was in belgium at the time and got back monday night. got in the car tuesday, started it and drove it and the light did not come on, both air bags on normal height. weve had loads of rain and not surprisingly the sunroofs leak. so thought maybe water had got some where and was playing tricks with the electrics. decided to check the orm switch whilst in low gear. compressor did not raise the rear end.
this is what i have checked:-
checked fl9. it had blown, so have replaced it.
swapped r5 & r3 relays. head light washers work on either relay. also checked relays on the bench. all ok.
checked fuses 8, 9, & 11. this was suggested whilst doing a search.
plugged in hawkeye and got fault codes 4152, 4153, & 4167. not sure what they mean

unplugged compressor plug and attached avo to socket coming out of loom. when i start car, there is a voltage of 14.45v for approx 20 seconds. if i push orm switch i get the same voltage reading.
so as i see it. voltage is getting to compressor, but it does not work.
so before i splash out on a compressor.
is there anything else i should check?
thanks, steve.
ps. thanks sierrafery for your help elsewhere.

sounds like it needs calibrating, mine has done this before.
can you get your Hawkeye to raise and lower the system?
if it can then you'll need someone with a nanocom to recheck the calibration.

fixed it and this is how i did it.
took compressor of and connected it up to a battery on the bench. surprisingly it worked. but it was pumping water out. so presumably it had some sort of hydraulic lock. spent 1/2 an hour pumping the water out in 5 second bursts. then left it over night on a radiator to dry out.
next day i ran it again on the bench whilst squirting wd40 into the air pipe inlet. then fitted it back on the car. hey presto. it all seems to be working fine.
dunno if the water will cause any long term probs. still working out how it got in there.
